Q: The lovely Roxy Jezel; what a pleasure! Your accent is as much a turn on as your exotic look. What's your background?
Roxy Jezel: (laughing) Well, I was born and raised in England by my mother, who is English, and father who is originally from Thailand.

Q: Well, that's a winning combo in my books.
Roxy Jezel: Thanks. I think that one of the reasons that I have maintained working as much as I do within this business is because of my unique look. There are other half-Thai, half-white porn stars - like Tera Patrick, she's half-Thai - but there are none that speak with an English accent.

Q: I imagine that casting directors are lined up to work with you. Do you think that having a British accent provides an advantage to you over some other performers?
Roxy Jezel: For sure, my accent differentiates me from some of the other performers in the industry but I've never found it to be sexy. I guess I'm just used to it! I do get a lot of positive feedback especially when I talk really dirty and I like to talk dirty!

Q: What were you like growing up?
Roxy Jezel: In general, I was always a very good girl. I always got good grades and even won an award for having top grades in secondary school. Then, I got my degree in philosophy and ethics before setting out to backpack around the world.

Q: Do you think your current career would come as a shock to people that you gre up with?
Roxy Jezel: Well, they all know and everybody is really cool about it as long as I'm happy doing it. My family knows as well and are just as supportive but we don't really talk about it.

Q: So when did you get your start in the adult entertainment industry?
Roxy Jezel: I have been in this business since April of 2003.

Q: And you started in London? How did you get your start?
Roxy Jezel: No, I came straight to California to start working in film. Before then, I had not done any porn. I was actually working in Australia as an exotic dancer. I was contacted through a website I had been working with by Direct Models and they brought me to LA to begin making movies.

Q: A Brit, hired out of Australia to work in American adult films - how very international!
Roxy Jezel: (laughing) There's a pretty simple story behind it all. After university, I did some backpacking through Europe, ended up travelling through Chile and from there went to Australia. It was there that I started to run low on money so I started working in a strip club and shot a few spreads for magazines to earn extra cash. In searching for more work, I put up an advert on a website and that LA Direct Models picked up. The rest is history!

Q: What was your first movie?
Roxy Jezel: My first movie was for Red Light District; the whole thing was very spontaneous. It was a case of I want to shoot you right now so I had my test and jumped on set with Lexington Steele and Erik Everhard. I absolutely love doing this and have no plans for getting out of this industry. I grew up in this biz on doing gonzo and have definitely proved myself

Q: Talk about jumping right in; your first scene was with two of the very best male performers! Were you at all nervous?
Roxy Jezel: When I first started, absolutely! I took one look at Lex and remember thinking 'oh my god, that is the biggest thing I've ever seen'. Everything went really well, but I was walking like John Wayne the next day!

Q: So, sometimes a cock can just be 'too big'?
Roxy Jezel : For sure - Lex is big. Mandingo is too big.

Q: Now, I understand that you had elected to stop doing anal scenes. Care to comment?
Roxy Jezel: Sure. I had done plenty of anal for during my first 3 - 4 years and, honestly, sometimes it can be painful. It's not that I'm never going to do it again, I'm just going to save it for special occasions with Club Jenna and my website.

Q: Do you have any favourite performers to work with?

Q: There's been some press in recent years about the influx of performers from the United Kingdom to the States to do adult film work. What's your opinion as to why this is the case?
Roxy Jezel: There is no comparison between the adult industry in London versus America. There are only a handful of companies in England and they mostly handle amateur work, some of which I have worked for. Coming to work in American porn was the next step for my career. Performers don't really ever go from America to England; the opportunities are here.


Q: Having worked with different international performers, is there a particular difference in style between continents?
Roxy Jezel: We Europeans fuck good 'n' hard and I do notice a difference. Some girls here are limp in their performances and don't seem to be very into the scenes at all.

Q: Brits have often been known for their stuffy stereotype. Do you feel as though you are contributing to break that image?
Roxy Jezel: I guess, somewhat. In my opinion, people that come across as being repressed are usually the nastiest, raunchiest of the lot. I bet the Mormon people in America really want to tie up their husbands and spank them on the ass with loads and loads of sodomy. Q: Tell us a little bit about being involved with Jenna's American Sex Star competition.
Roxy Jezel: Well, I got involved with the television show through my agent. The casting directors contacted my agent directly to request that I be involved. No audition (that was nice).

Q: Congrats on winning! I understand that there was some pretty tough competition. How do you think that this change your career?
